Geographical environment
Heshan is situated at the intersection of the three major economic circles of the Pearl River Delta—Guangzhou–Foshan–Zhaoqing, Shenzhen–Dongguan–Huizhou, and Zhuhai–Zhongshan–Jiangmen—and serves as a vital transportation hub connecting the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area with western Guangdong and ASEAN.

New Positioning
Jiangmen has assigned Heshan City a new strategic positioning as the “Eastern Integration Hub and Northern Gateway, as well as a key driver of manufacturing in Western Pearl River Delta.” Both the China–Europe International Cooperation Zone for SMEs and the Western Pearl River Delta Logistics Hub are located in Heshan City.

New character
The construction of the dry port launch zone at the Western Pearl River Logistics Center will position it as a dry port for Yantian Port, Nansha Port, and Gaolan Port, as well as an “offshore port” for the Pearl River Delta, assuming the roles of a logistics transshipment hub for the delta and a logistics hub for western Guangdong.
